My newly acquired 1987 VW Scirocco 16V rough idle

From 10/3/2014: This 1987 VW Scirocco 16V is described as a mostly original rust-free example and is said to run well with 66k miles. We like red on these and the paint is claimed to be original. The seller mentions some parts that are missing or will need to be replaced but this Scirocco looks like a clean driver. Find it in Oregon. Special thanks to BaT reader Matt M. for this submission!

Buy Classic Volks – Volkswagen Scirocco for Sale in US. 1987 VW Scirocco on great condition with nice color. Only selling due to business venture and need all the cash I can come up with. 171K well care for miles. I have owned this gem for 14 years; bought from original owner with 96K. Never driven in winter. Never had any rust; body repainted same color a few years ago. 1st place in class and overall watercooled. New Toyo performance tires and wheels. Most recent work was new oil pump and shifter bushings. Rblt 5 spd. Mechanically solid but does need new muffler; was going to get a TT cat-back S/S system. Last timing belt and water pump was at 130K. Interior is original and does have some wear but really good for 26 years. Please do not waste my time; serious Scirocco buyers only. $4500.

My newly acquired 1987 VW Scirocco 16V rough idle. Correcting the short cuts the previous owners took for some reason. The AC condenser was free floating which put unnecessary stress on belts and pulleys. Has a cracked alternator mounting bracket so alternator belt is loose. Engine also seems to be shaking excessively. Throw in a bad leak in the headers and I've got some work to do here.
