This 1988 Merkur XR4Ti (VIN WF1BT80W2JM698911) looks extraordinarily clean and shows just over 52k claimed-original miles on its odometer. Tires, clutch, timing belt and water pump are all new, the seller further claiming the car to run, ride and drive very well with no electrical problems. The color combo is a bit of a let-down, but otherwise this seems like a great example with the right equipment. Find it in Staten Island, New York for $6,000.
This 1988 Merkur XR4Ti is an unmodified example that features its original 2.3 liter turbo inline-four and T9 5-speed gearbox. This German-engineered Ford has been driven just over 50K miles and is said to be in good order mechanically thanks to a recent tune-up and new battery. Original paint and interior are well-preserved, and the car just won two Merkur awards at the 2016 Carlisle All-Ford Nationals earlier this month in Pennsylvania. Various XR4Ti parts are included, and the car is sold with a clean Indiana title.
