(5) The aftermarket California catalytic converter must be installed in the same location as the OEM California catalytic converter it is designed to replace. The front face of the replacement California catalytic converter shall be no more than 3 inches further upstream or downstream in the exhaust from where the front face of the OEM California catalytic converter was located. The installation may not alter the location, position, or orientation of oxygen (O2) sensors upstream and downstream of the California catalytic converter
(7) The aftermarket California catalytic converter must be installed with all other required catalytic converters (meaning you cannot consolidate the catalytic converters, nor can you add additional catalytic converters)
The direct fit flange to flange design bolts to your existing exhaust system. Stainless steel construction will give you the durability you will need for any application. The thick OE style flanges are enhanced for strength. They are also engineered for specific vehicle emission specifications. The weight of this convertor is about seven pounds. The 21” x 10” x 5” may be a little large for certain installations. Starting January 1, 2009, California's aftermarket catalytic converter program takes on a new look. No longer will the conventional pre-OBD II parts be offered for sale and both CA OBD II as we ll as pre-OBD II parts will be quite different.
