The auto window visor helps reduce glare and increase road visibility for a driver. There are a few steps that you need to follow in order to properly replace a broken or defective auto window visor. The process of replacing an auto window visor is simple and does not require much work.

The replacement auto window visor can be purchased new at an auto parts store or found used at a reputable auto salvage yard. Depending on the budget that you have for this replacement, go with the OEM replacement equipment sold at a parts store. You can also check with a car dealer parts department to see if they have any replacement auto window visors in stock. If the car is older, you might be able to get a price break.

  • Replacement Auto Window Visor
  • Screwdriver
  • Spray 3-in-One Oil

Part Number: 95454; Notes: Smoke

Place a new or replacement window visor matching the one that you removed. The replacement visor should slide in place over the mount. Secure the replacement window visor with the screw removed from the old visor. Again, if you are replacing the arm and/or mount for the auto window visor, simply remove the entire assembly with a screwdriver and screw the replacement part in place. If the screw is old, use 3-in-one oil to lubricate the screw head before engaging the screwdriver. If it strips, you will need to use a ratchet with a specially designed screw head for the stripped screw head.

Test the visor by moving it up and down. It should move easily and not stick when moving it. If it does, adjust the screw to see if that helps it move more freely. Oil the joint at the auto window visor arm to eliminate any squeaking, especially if the visor is an old replacement part from another car. This will ensure that the visor will work properly and not be a problem for future use.
